Information & control
Privacy policy
Effective October 31, 2026
This policy explains how Altas, Wentao Wang’s privately operated personal assistant, handles information from connected Google accounts and requested assistant tasks.
1. Who operates Altas
Altas is operated by Wentao Wang for personal and work use. It is not offered as a public multi-user service. Contact: wentaowang23@gmail.com.
2. Information Altas accesses
With the account holder’s Google OAuth permission, Altas may access the following information as needed for a requested task:
- Account identity: basic profile information and email address to identify the connected account.
- Gmail: message content, headers, attachments, labels and drafts, and requested mailbox actions.
- Calendar: calendars, event details, attendees and scheduling information.
- Drive: file metadata, content and permissions relevant to files the account can access.
- Docs and Sheets: document text, spreadsheet data and related metadata.
Altas also processes the operator’s instructions, conversation history and task results. Access is limited by the permissions granted, Google’s controls and the account’s existing access rights.
3. How information is used
Altas uses information to answer questions, summarize content, find files, assist with scheduling, draft communications, analyze spreadsheets and perform specifically requested or approved actions. Personal and work accounts are authorized and selected separately.
Altas does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. Altas does not train machine-learning models itself or operate a model-training dataset.
4. AI providers and messaging services
Relevant instructions and task content, including Google-derived content, may be transmitted to the AI providers configured by the operator. The current assistant uses OpenAI; explicitly delegated tasks may involve other configured providers, including Anthropic. These providers process content under their applicable terms and account-level data controls.
When Altas is used through Telegram or another enabled communication service, that service processes the messages sent through it. Its own privacy and retention policies apply. The operator is responsible for selecting provider settings and tasks consistent with the privacy requirements of each connected account.
5. Storage, retention and protection
Google OAuth credentials are kept in separate encrypted local files on the operator’s computer. Encryption keys are stored locally with restricted file permissions. This does not protect credentials from someone who has full access to that computer.
Conversation history, logs, retrieved content and generated results may be saved locally for continuity and troubleshooting. They are not all covered by the credential-store encryption. Retained information stays until the operator deletes it or the relevant local retention settings remove it. External AI and messaging providers may retain data according to their own terms and settings.
Credentials and private account content are not embedded in or published by this website.
6. Revoking access and deleting data
Account holders can revoke Altas’s access at Google Account connections. Revocation stops future authorized access but does not automatically delete previously retained local history or copies held by external providers.
For disconnection, local data removal or questions about retained content, contact wentaowang23@gmail.com. Provider-held information must also be managed through the relevant provider’s controls.
7. Google API Services User Data Policy
Altas’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google data is used to provide the user-facing assistant features described here.
8. This public website
This is a static information website. It has no Google sign-in form, account dashboard, contact form or Google-data backend. No advertising or analytics scripts are added to its pages. Hosting and network providers, including Cloudflare Pages, may process ordinary request metadata such as IP addresses and browser information to deliver and protect the site.
9. Changes and contact
This policy will be updated when Altas’s data practices change. The effective date appears above. Privacy questions can be sent to wentaowang23@gmail.com.
